Solar PV tracker developer, Nextracker and India's renewable power engineering and construction company PES Engineers have signed a 400 MW supply agreement for the Indian sub-continent.
While details were thin on the ground regarding the projects, a spokesperson told pv magazine, "We expect a range of project sizes, from distributed generation (< 10MW) to large utility-scale." They added that the majority will be utility-scale.
Both companies will, over the next three years, until March 2018, deliver trackers and installation services to major construction projects in India. The first project in the agreement will ship out next month to a site in central India.
Vasudeva Prasad, managing director of PES commented, "After reviewing favorable 3rd party evaluations of Nextracker's technology, we found the self-powered tracker to be ideal … Its independent row architecture and self-powered design will help us deploy more photovoltaics to a wider variety of sites in less time for less cost. We will also benefit from Nextrackers core competencies including system design, commissioning, and O&M support."
