Intersolar postpones second China tradeshow
23. October 2012 | Industry & Suppliers, Markets & Trends | By: Becky BeetzThe second Intersolar China tradeshow has been postponed, following the current difficult market conditions. The event is expected to resume in 2013, alongside its new partner, The China Renewable Energy Industry Association (CREIA).
The 2012 tradeshow was scheduled to take place from December 12 to 14, at the China Convention Center in Beijing. However, the organizers at Solar Promotion International have said today, October 23, that on the back of ongoing consolidation, the event will be postponed until 2013. It is hoped the new partnership with CREIA will help to establish stronger links between the industry and politics.
The conference is still scheduled to take place between this December 11 and 13 at the Intercontinental Hotel Beichen also in Beijing, however, where 500 experts – national and international – are expected to attend.
Intersolar China opened its doors for the first time just last December in Beijing. Solar Promotion International's first Chinese tradeshow got off to a slow start, with just 135 of an expected 250 exhibitors showing up. Top-tier solar panel manufacturers like Yingli, Suntech and JA Solar also stood out by not being present at the show.
Overall, around 5,000 visitors and 350 conference participants took part. Meanwhile, the share of Chinese exhibitors was 65%, and the share of Chinese visitors was around 90%.
