Marubeni has said it will create a special purpose company to execute its large-scale photovoltaic plans.
Construction is expected to begin this November, and should be completed by March 2014. Meanwhile, the generated electricity will be sold to Kyushu Electric Power Co. over a period of 20 years.
The company added that the plant, which will be located across 105,000 square meters of industrial land along the coast of Oita, will be used to evaluate the possibility of more "mega-solar" projects.
