TÜV Rheinland's new test facilities

Share

These include new types of test chambers for special stress testing of solar modules and photovoltaic components with ammonia or salty air as well as a new spectral measuring station for the measurement of photovoltaic modules with an edge length of up to 200 centimeters.

With the new test stand, TÜV Rheinland can provide manufacturers of crystalline and thin film photovoltaic modules with the means to measure the spectral sensitivity and quantum efficiency of photovoltaic modules. TÜV also states that a further innovation to be presented at the 26th EU PVSEC will be the sunlight simulator which can be used for measuring PV modules, thermal solar collectors and a combination of both technologies known as PVT modules.

With extensive investments in new test stands and capacities, TÜV Rheinland can offer manufacturers of (C)PV modules and components new services, which are continuously adapted to the technical developments and current regulatory market requirements. For example, TÜV Rheinland is now offering module and component manufacturers from the European Union the certification of proof of origin required to receive ten percent higher feed-in tariffs in Italy in future.
