Sunways: Banks cancel $8.6 million credit
In light of the continuing downturn in the European photovoltaic industry, yet another negative announcement was made today by a German company. Banks have cancelled their line of credit worth US$8.6 million to LDK Solar subsidiary Sunways.

Germany: Belectric grid connects 128 MW thin film PV plant
Project developer and integrator Belectric has announced the completion of a 128 MW thin film photovoltaic plant in Brandenburg, Germany. The company claims that it is the largest power plant in Europe to have been supplied with First Solar modules.
India: Guidelines for selection of 750 MW grid-connected PV projects
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has released the draft guidelines for the second phase of batch 1 under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM) to set up 750 MW of grid solar PV power projects. Comments and suggestions have been requested by the end of April to facilitate the finalization of the guideline.

Greece adds 793 MW of PV in Q1 [Updated]

Malaysia: Saudi Arabian company to develop polysilicon plant
Malaysian state Sarawak will develop a new US$1.6 billion polysilicon manufacturing plant which is slated to start operations in 2016.
