A memorandum of understanding (MOU) has been reached between leading solar module manufacturer and supplier, Hanwha SolarOne, and U.S.-based solar services supplier OneRoof Energy in which the former will supply 50 MW of modules for a range of projects across the States.
The supply agreement sees Hanwha SolarOne deliver its high-quality solar modules for OneRoof Energys projects, as well as outlining a future and ongoing collaboration between the two companies, working together to develop new and next generation products for the U.S. residential solar market.
It is hoped that the companies combined efforts can bring lower levelized energy costs to U.S. homeowners, while also improving PV system efficiencies , increasing residual value and energy yield, and improve bankability for both Hanwha and OneRoof Energy.
"OneRoof Energy is well positioned in the burgeoning residential rooftop financing market in the U.S., where in large markets like California industry sources estimate about three-quarters of all solar installations were the result of third-party financing," said Hanwha SolarOne president, Min-Su Kim, who added that Hanwhas modules will help OneRoof Energy meetin its performance and product warranty customer guarantees.
David Field, OneRoof Energys CEO and president, said: "Hanwha SolarOne makes high-quality, reliable modules, but most importantly they offer our customers peace of mind that the panel manufacturer will be there to back the warranty for 12 years."
