Solar PV technology has already exceeded its deployment goals under the European Commission’s renewable energy targets. Overall, the EU is on track to meet its 2020 targets, with renewables accounting for a projected 15.3% of overall European energy consumption in 2014.
SolarCity to develop 100 MW of community solar in Minnesota
U.S. lease provider SolarCity is tacking the plunge into community solar, rolling out a scheme in Minnesota whereby renters or low-income housing residents will have the opportunity to purchase electricity virtually from a community solar array. It plans to develop 100 1 MW community in the state.
