As part of a $10 million investment in Ontario, Sungrow Canada Inc. has openend its North American headquarters in Vaughan. Fifty new jobs have reportedly been created.

India: PLG Power inks 70 MW worth of PV contracts
PLG Power Limited has signed photovoltaic contracts worth 70 megawatts (MW) with the Gujarat Government in India. In total, it aims to install 200 MW by 2012.
GE to build 400 MW thin film factory; sets new CdTe record
In what has been a busy day for the company, GE has said it will build a new 400 megawatt thin film photovoltaic panel factory in the U.S. It has also achieved 12.8 percent efficiency on a full-size, thin film solar panel, and acquired PrimeStar Solar, Inc.
3Sun granted 49.06 million in state aid
The European Commission has granted 3Sun Srl 49.06 million of regional investment aid. The funds will be used towards the establishment of a 240 megawatt, 358.68 million photovoltaic module production plant.
SunShot Initiative receives $112.5 million boost
