Cantsink Marketing Director Sharon Lee has been elected chair of the 2015-16 Georgia Solar Energy Association Board of Directors.

She joined the GA Solar Board of Directors in 2012, serving the organization with distinction in a number of roles. As chair of the Marketing and Programs committees, she has led the planning and outreach effort for the successful Southern Solar Summit, GA Solar’s annual daylong symposium on solar policy, progress and innovation. Under her leadership, the Southern Solar Summit has grown in popularity as the region’s most visible solar event.

In 2014, she was elected Vice Chair, joining GA Solar’s executive committee at a moment when Georgia’s solar market entered a boom phase that has attracted national attention. As part of the executive committee, Lee has played a key role in raising awareness of solar as a viable resource in Georgia’s energy portfolio.

Lee joined the Cantsink team in 2010. Her primary role is coordinating the company’s marketing efforts, but she also provides business development services. Cantsink was founded in 1988 as an installer of helical piles for foundation support. The company later began to manufacture the helical piles.

After joining Cantsink, Lee embarked on an analysis of the solar market as a potential new venture for the company. She found a clear niche in providing foundations, racking and installation services for ground-mounted solar arrays. The Cantsink facilities operate on solar energy.

“Sharon Lee has contributed immeasurably to Cantsink’s success and pioneered the solar market for this company,” said Patrick Hutchinson, Cantsink’s President. “We know she will provide GA Solar with the same progressive leadership and devotion to excellence she has given us.”

She has been a member of GA Solar since 2011. In addition to her leadership at GA Solar, Lee is a member of Women in Solar Energy (WISE) and a Charter Member of the Professional Women in Construction chapter of the Greater Atlanta Homebuilders’ Association. She volunteers as Chair of the Women’s Ministry at her church, and in a variety of capacities in the PTO of a local elementary school.
