SENEC, one of the world's leading manufacturers of home storage systems, signed a contract for the supply of storage units with a wholesaler in Australia shortly before the end of the year. The agreement guarantees the initial acceptance of 2,000 storage systems through mid-year 2017.

With its entry into the Australian market, SENEC is continuing its international expansion course. Within only a few months the German company secures access to another strongly growing sales market for power storage units. With a sales volume of 2,000 units in the first half year, SENEC becomes one of the largest power storage providers in Australia.

Sven Albersmeier-Braun, Head of International Business Development at SENEC, is pleased: “Australia is one of the world’s largest and one of the most recent markets for home storage systems. Our forecasts unmistakably point in one direction: the current base and expansion of photovoltaic plants combined with already high and continuously rising prices for energy will lead to a rapid increase in demand for power storage units in the coming years. As statistics from the Australian PV Institute show Australia is a strongly growing market over the course of the last years.” The demand will keep growing steadily as more than 75,000 photovoltaic systems were installed in Australian homes in the first nine months of 2016 and a total of approximately 1,45 million home solar electric systems are operated in the relevant business segment at present.

The official representative responsible for sales and service operating under the brand SENEC Australia says: “We are delighted to be the official SENEC representative for Australia and New Zealand. We recognized the need for high-quality energy storage systems early on and are glad to have found a partner which combines many years of experience in this field with the quality “Made in Germany”,” says Ian Parkinson, CEO.

SENEC founder and managing director Mathias Hammer emphasizes the importance of the contract: “With this deal, we are securing around 40 percent of our export sales volume for 2017. The units for Australia are rolling off the production line and the first systems already arrived in Perth beginning of January. Preorders will be accepted from now on.” According to Hammer SENEC will expand their business to further international markets shortly: “With the rapid development of sales and service networks in Australia, Austria and Italy and the accompanying sales success we have shown that SENEC is ready for the international market.”
