The solar energy storage systems manufacturer ASD Automatic Storage Device has appointed a new head of sales with Thomas Broderick taking over the helm of national and international sales activities for the company’s innovative storage system solutions.

Before joining ASD, the German-American had spent several years at Belectric, one of the world’s largest systems manufacturers, where he worked as a project leader and key account manager for German and international large-scale photovoltaic projects.

“Since winning the German Renewables Award, demand from abroad for ASD’s solar storage system has surged, in particular from Great Britain, the United States and the Middle East. I believe that there is currently no better product on the market and I am extremely excited about marketing this storage system around the world,” says Thomas Broderick, Head of Sales & Marketing.

“I also think it’s great that ASD covers the entire range of storage technology, from small storage systems for single-family homes to large storage systems for megawatt-scale projects.”

“I am delighted that Thomas Broderick took over as head of sales in February. He is highly experienced and has excellent connections in the PV industry. We now look forward to working alongside him as we take the next step in our company’s development and expand our business in Germany as well as internationally. We will step up our production capacity in the second quarter to meet the rising demand,” explains Wolfram Walter, CEO of ASD and the inventor of their solar storage system.

Last November, ASD’s solar storage system was named Product Innovation of the Year by the Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster (EEHH).

Thanks to the manufacturer’s intelligent electronics, the storage system charges the batteries even in low insolation conditions when the photovoltaic system is producing as little as one watt of energy. The device is connected to all three phases and supplies solar power to the entire building. If the storage system is supplying enough solar energy, the entire building is disconnected from the power grid. It only takes one millisecond for the electronics to switch between the power grid and battery, making the system significantly quicker than any other device on the market. In the event of a power cut, all appliances in the building continue to function without interruption, instead of being turned off for seconds or minutes at a time.

The ASD solar storage system differs from other lithium-ion storage systems thanks to its lithium iron phosphate battery technology, which provides ultimate levels of safety. The batteries can neither ignite nor explode.
