The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology signed a memorandum of understanding with Desert Technologies Group, the first Saudi manufacturer and exporter of solar panels in the kingdom, aiming to rely on solar energy to operate 5G network towers throughout Saudi Arabia. Using Sahara containerized solar generators to supply communication towers with solar energy to achieve net-zero carbon emissions and achieve carbon neutrality in their operations, especially with the ministry’s expansion of 5G services.

As a result of the latest auctions organised by GSE (Gestore Servizi Energetici) for investments below and above 1 MWp, the R.Power Group, Poland’s largest developer of PV power plants, secured the rights to sell energy from investment portfolios with a total capacity of 21 MWp. All projects that have won auctions come from the group’s own development. In total, in the recent years, the R.Power Group has won solar auctions for the total installed capacity of almost 700 MWp.

A bank consortium composed of ING Bank Śląski SA, Santander Bank Polska SA, Erste Group Bank AG, PKO Bank Polski and Bank Pekao SA has signed an agreement worth PLN 864 million (EUR 189 million) to finance the solar power plant portfolio of R.Power Group, the largest Polish developer of photovoltaic projects. The financing will be used to build solar power plants with a total capacity of 299 MWp, which won last year’s RES auctions.
