European solar panel manufacturer SoliTek (Vilnius, Lithuania) has earned a Silver level cradle to Cradle Certified award for its advanced glass-glass SOLID module range. The company embarked on a demanding Cradle to Cradle Certified process in the beginning of 2020, responding to a growing interest for environmentally sustainable solar panels in Europe, especially Scandinavia and Benelux, the primary SoliTek markets.

The second week of July began with negative hourly prices in large parts of the European electricity market, due to high wind energy production. Over the course of the week, wind production fell and, during some hours, prices topped €50/MWh, driven by increased demand. Brent oil futures continued to recover and carbon futures exceeded €29/t, values not registered since early August.

Recent research from BloombergNEF shows a significant drop in the levelized cost of energy (LCOE) from renewables.
