Tesvolt receives growth capital from Saxony-Anhalt

IBG Risikokapitalfonds III (IBG), managed by bmp Beteiligungsmanagement AG (bmp), is investing several million euros in commercial storage system manufacturer TESVOLT. The young company from Wittenberg develops and produces lithium battery-storage systems for commercial customers. The IBG investments will go towards the further development of TESVOLT technology. In addition, the production lines will be expanded to be able to meet increased demand. Further resources will be used to finance national and international marketing and sales activities.

BYD introduces first direct wireless modular high voltage storage system B-Box HV in Europe

BYD launched its newly expanded line-up of B-Box Battery Energy Storage Systems in Europe. With the newly introduced B-Box HV, the easy-to-install modular battery cabinets are now also available in a HV (high-voltage) model for both commercial and residential use. This new model complements the LV (low-voltage) series for residential use.

Tin perovskite thin film tandem solar cell patent granted by the US Patent Office to Solar-Tectic LLC

The patent, US 15/205,233 titled “Tin Perovskite/Silicon Thin-Film Tandem Solar Cell” is part of a “Tandem Series” of high efficiency and cost effective solar cells by Solar-Tectic LLC with the potential to surpass the efficiencies of thin-film solar cell technologies such as CdTe, CIGS, and a-Si, and replace the silicon technology which dominates the global market today based on poly and monocrystalline wafers.

Hannon Armstrong completes $84 million sustainable yield bond offering with BlackRock accounts, Moody’s green bond assessment and CarbonCoun

Hannon Armstrong Sustainable Infrastructure Capital, Inc. and ccounts managed by BlackRock today announced the completion of an $84 million offering of Sustainable Yield Bonds (“SYBs”) by Hannon Armstrong in which BlackRock arranged institutional financing. The SYBs were issued by an indirect subsidiary of Hannon Armstrong and financed efficiency and solar assets in over 90 public schools and over 20 local government properties across four different states. The non-recourse bonds, issued at par, have a 4.35% fixed rate coupon and a 20-year life and have a CarbonCount score of 0.27 metric tons of greenhouse gas per $1,000.

The eScience Center and NWO-Shell join forces for future energy

Future energy requires innovative solutions. Current energy developments are advanced by scientific research on geoscience, wind and solar energy, multiphase flows, computational chemistry and material sciences. The eScience Center and NWO-Shell’s Computational Sciences for Energy Research programme (CSER) are joining forces to support this research by opening a joint call for PhD project proposals with eScience support. This new joint call addresses research challenges in the computational sciences for future energy and develops sustainable software tools.

Schletter Group: new greenhouse mounting system makes its début in China

The Schletter Group has installed its newly developed mounting solution for greenhouse solar PV systems for the first time in China. A 20 MWp large-scale photovoltaic system was installed for the “Jiangs-North Greenhouse Project” in a vegetable cultivation plant in the province of Sihong for the project developers, Nanjing QDC. Panasonic Donates a total of 1,584 solar lanterns to South Africa, Swaziland, and Lesotho

Since 2012, Panasonic Corporation has been working on the 100 Thousand Solar Lanterns Project, a project that aims to donate a total of 100 thousand solar lanterns to the world’s non-electrified areas by 2018, which is the centennial of Panasonic’s foundation. As part of the effort, the company donated a total of 1,584 solar lanterns for the first time to three nonprofit organizations (NGOs) working in the three countries of the Republic of South Africa, Kingdom of Swaziland, and Kingdom of Lesotho. Today, a donation ceremony was held at the Nelson Mandela Foundation in South Africa.
