Q-Cells introduces 'Next Generation' solar cells and world record CIGS solar module at Solarexpo 2011 in Verona

Q-Cells will be presenting its comprehensive portfolio of crystalline and thin film products at the Solarexpo in Verona. The new solar cell technology features improved surface metallisation and a much higher efficiency rating. The ‘Next Generation' solar cells form the basis for a new, high-performance generation of Q-Cells solar modules, which will be launched at the sector trade fair Intersolar in June 2011.

Within the CIGS thin film technology, Q-Cells will present its world record CIGS solar module Q.SMART UF. Q.SMART solar modules are particularly suitable for the Italian market.

They feature an aesthetic design and outstanding performance ratings under extreme climatic conditions, and are ideally suited as a solar application for flat roofs, such as on large industrial buildings, even when the mounting angle is less than optimal.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE previously confirmed that the Q-Cell's Q.SMART UF solar module has an efficiency rating of 13.37 percent. This makes the module from the series production of Solibro GmbH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Q-Cells SE, the world record holder amongst monolithic integrated solar modules.

We would like to invite you to a press meeting on the first day of the Solarexpo on 4 May at our Booth C9.1 in Hall 2, where we will introduce our new and existing products. Matthias Altieri, Managing Director of Q-Cells Italia, Ina von Spies, Corporate Communications, and Bettina Brammer, Market Management ?Q-Cells, will be there to answer your questions.
