Siliken obtains European Production Certification

Share

Siliken has obtained the European Production Certification from TÜV Rheinland in accordance with the criteria required by Gestore Servizi Energetici (GSE). This includes the products manufactured in the plants in Rafelbuñol and Casas Ibañez, Spain, and in Chisoda, Rumania. The certificate comprises the following modules: SLK72P6L, SLK72M6L, SLK60P6LCS, SLK60P6L, SLK60M6L, SLK50P6L, SLK50M6L, SLK48P6L, SLK48M6L, SLK36P6L, SLK36M6L, GT40P6L and GT40M6L. This European Production Certification allows Siliken’s customers to gain a 10 percent increase on the regular bonus for selling their energy to the grid from any type of PV installation, in accordance with the Italian Fourth Energy Bill.

The new Italian law establishes that in order for the owners of PV installations to benefit from this bonus, they must prove the European production origin of their PV systems through a Factory Inspection Certificate. The certificate obtained by Siliken, issued by TÜV Rheinland Laboratory, meets the requirements of this law and helps its customers to gain an increase on their bonus.

The European Production Certification of Siliken PV modules is complemented by other, previously obtained certificates. These include quality/product certifications in accordance with the following standards: ISO 9001:2008; ISO 14001:2004; EN (IEC) 61215:2005; EN (IEC) 61730:2007 Security Class A; EN (IEC) 61701:1999 Corrosion Resistance in saline environments; IEC 62716:2011 Ammonia Corrosion Testing; and UL 1703 for application worldwide.

These certifications are furthermore complemented by the local recognition in certain regions, which makes Siliken PV modules suitable for any type of PV installation carried out in those regions, in the same fashion as MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) for the United Kingdom, Clean Energy Council for Australia, or Israel Electric Corporation for Israel.

The guarantee offered by Siliken allowed the company to win the Number One distinction in the prestigious Photon Laboratory survey. From January to December 2010, Photon ranked Siliken modules as the best in terms of measuring the accumulated power generation per year compared to more than 47 other modules produced by 36 manufacturers. Siliken modules generate 5.9 percent more power than the average of all of the studied modules and 12.4 percent more with respect to the minimum.
