Our organization will be installing 10 solar arrays for 10 rural health centers in India that don't have reliable access to electricity from the grid.

Even while COVID cases surge, unreliable electricity from the grid has forced ventilators to shut down and oxygen generators to turn off. In one heartbreaking example, Joe Kselman, Executive Director of Solar Village, learned of the death of a poet in his 30s, who died because a ventilator turned off in the middle of the night when the clinic lost electricity.

Joe Kselman stated, “Thanks to the generosity of our donors and partners 10 medical clinics in rural India will now have life-changing solar power to maintain devices that will save lives during the COVID crisis.”

According to the think Tank Power For All, 50% of Primary Health Centers in India have unreliable access to electricity. The scale of the problem is what motivated Solar Village Project to launch their Covid Relief Campaign.
