SolarBridge heads to Chicago, America’s greenest city, to train expanding solar workforce

The free training, presented by Ontility Solar Training and co-sponsored by Talesun, is being held to educate the Midwest’s growing solar workforce. Recognized as one of the greenest cities in America, Chicago is home to a growing sustainability industry.

As a hub for the renewable energy, green building, bio-water management, and waste recycling industries, Chicago is developing a booming green-collar workforce. One of the fastest-growing sectors for green-collar jobs is the solar industry, a driving factor in the selection of Chicago to be the 2013 host city for Solar Power International, the largest solar energy industry conference in North America.

“The U.S. rooftop solar market will continue to grow rapidly, and as it does we want to make sure the solar workforce is prepared,” said Craig Lawrence, VP of Marketing, SolarBridge Technologies. “As we travel the country on our roadshow, we’ve been very gratified by the response of installers and integrators who clearly see the need for simple, reliable solutions that can help them accelerate their businesses.”

TrueAC modules dramatically cut installation time and system cost. With microinverters preinstalled on the back of the solar panels, TrueAC modules can be installed up to 50 percent faster than DC modules with detached microinverters and produce up to 25 percent more power than string inverters with dramatically improved design flexibility.

Through the ACPV Revolution Roadshow, SolarBridge is providing free technology training for solar installers on TrueAC modules, which are designed, tested and certified as a single assembly by SolarBridge and its module manufacturing partners.

At this training, experienced and aspiring installers will have the opportunity to gain hands-on training with TrueAC modules powered by SolarBridge microinverters. Attendees will also have the opportunity to interact with the latest software monitoring tools and compete for prizes in an installation showdown. All participants will receive four continuing education credits from the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP), the leading solar workforce certification agency.

The NABCEP training is presented in partnership with Ontility, a leader in solar training and education, and Talesun, a leading module manufacturer and provider of the TAC Module powered by SolarBridge Pantheon II microinverters. The SolarBridge ACPV Revolution Roadshow has been traveling the U.S. since November, with stops in some of the fastest growing U.S. solar markets.

The Chicago training will be held at the Hilton Rosemont/Chicago O'Hare, 5550 N. River Road in Rosemont, from 1 to 6 p.m., and includes a free networking happy hour from 5 to 6 p.m. For a complete list of tour stops and to register for the training, visit http://solarbridgetech.com/roadshow
