Recently, the 30MWp agricultural solar power plant invested and contracted by SSE held a groundbreaking ceremony in Xiangzhou, Hubei Province. It is reported this is the first agricultural PV power plant in Xiangzhou District.
This solar power station combines agriculture with solar power generation and the planning area reaches 850 acres. It will adopt 1.5 m -2.8 m brackets with solar panels on them for solar power generation. The shade-requiring plants can be grown between the lines of brackets and under the solar panels. It will achieve a new economic operation model integrating solar power generation, eco-agriculture, and tourism and low-carbon environmental protection. The installed gross capacity of the project will be 30MWp, with the total investment of about 235 million CNY, it will be completed in approximately six months. It is expected that this project will generate 35.6 million KWH of electricity and creating 35.6 million CNY operating income and 6 million CNY tax revenue the first year once completed.
Upon completion, the project will promote the industrial development of highly-efficient eco-agriculture and tourism service. In the meantime, grid-connected PV power generation can also accumulate revenue of agriculture and tourism income, boosting the economic development of Xiangzhou District.
