"Verengo is a national leader in residential solar and has helped thousands of happy Verengo customers go solar! Verengo believes its company's ‘TRUSTED' values gives its employees the foundation necessary for community staying power and green growth," stated the Advantage Award letter of recognition signed by Torrance Mayor Frank Scotto.

The letter continued: "Verengo's company values include Trust, as they build trust with every interaction; Responsibility, as they do good and they do well; Uncompromising by delivering what they promise; Smart, as they learn from experience and find ways to improve; Team by relying on each other to succeed; Enthusiastic by loving what they do and have fun doing it; and finally Dynamic by driving and embracing change.

"Relatively new to Torrance, Verengo is showing rapid growth and has taken part in the Red Cross community blood drive and worked with Grid Alternatives, Habitat for Humanity and the Sierra Club to assist in volunteer efforts which bring solar power to low income South Bay neighborhoods."

"We are truly honored by this prestigious Award from the City of Torrance and the Economic Development Office," said Verengo Inc. Co-Founder and President Ken Button. "Since moving our headquarters to Torrance in November of 2011, we have hired over 600 new employees and hope the Verengo Team can continue to expand and thrive with the support of these local leaders and good people of Torrance."

"Verengo Inc. greatly values the many advantages offered by being headquartered in the South Bay and are grateful we've had the opportunity to give something back to the community that has welcomed us so graciously," added Verengo Co-Founder and President Randy Bishop. The Torrance Advantage Awards ceremony showcases businesses that, in 2012, have demonstrated innovative economic development strategies, best practices, and outstanding results, all of which contribute to the quality of life in the city of Torrance.

Winners receive the Torrance Advantage Award crystal trophy and will be featured in the City's promotions such as the website, Torrance Seasons and other advertising avenues. Given business' struggles throughout the past few years with a downturn economy, the City of Torrance commends businesses who continue to contribute to the Torrance community in numerous ways.
