ZOOLNASM Wins Gold at the 2024 BRICS Industrial Innovation Competition

On August 21, Zoolnasm won the Gold Award in the national finals of the “Green Industry – Low Carbon Technology and Application” category at the globally renowned 2024 BRICS Industrial Innovation Competition. The company received this recognition for its pioneering project, “High-Performance NFS Sodium-Ion Battery Green Recycling Technology,” which earned positive evaluations and high praise from authoritative judges.

This honor not only acknowledges the company’s continued efforts in innovation, research, and engineering applications to advanceNFS sodium-ion battery technology but also highlights the significant social value of Zoolnasm’s commitment to the principle of “Sodium energy for carbon neutrality” and promoting the development of a green circular economy.

The BRICS Industrial Innovation Competition, jointly organized by the BRICS New Industrial Revolution Partnership Innovation Base and the International Economic and Technological Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, has been held for four consecutive years. It has become a prestigious platform that brings together the innovation and intelligence of BRICS nations, playing a significant role in promoting practical international cooperation and fostering new avenues for development. In 2024, the competition, themed “Joining Hands for High-Quality Partnerships to Open a New Chapter in Industrialization,” introduced five major tracks, covering cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing, green industry, low-altitude economy, and energy electronics. The “Green Industry – Low Carbon Technology and Application” track, organized by the China Association of Circular Economy, stands out for its importance and forward-looking approach.

As the first company in the world to promote the industrialization of the NFS sodium-ion battery system, Zoolnasm’s innovative technology is unique. With the relentless efforts of nearly 100 R&D personnel over four years, the company has successfully transformed by-products from traditional large-scale chemical industries, such as Na2SO2 and FeSO2, into high-purity battery cathode materials with excellent performance. Additionally, leveraging its full-stack technical capabilities, the R&D team has developed new batteries and solutions that can be widely applied, featuring long life, low cost, high efficiency, extreme cold resistance, and high safety. To date, the company has obtained more than 130 authorized patents, putting it far ahead of its competitors in the industry.

As the only company in the industry currently capable of mass-producing NFS sodium-ion battery cathode material at a thousand-ton scale, Zoolnasm’s engineering team has achieved an impressive combination of solid-state premixing technology and low-temperature sintering processes. This has reduced energy consumption for material mass production to less than 70% of that for LFP lithium-ion battery cathode materials. Furthermore, they have achieved a “green manufacturing” process with zero waste emissions and nearly 100% raw material utilization, showcasing both technological excellence and environmental friendliness.
