Aggreko

Aggreko, a UK-based mobile power and cooling solutions supplier, has released a new line of 30 kVA and 60 kVA battery storage modules. The fully integrated systems are developed for commercial and industrial energy storage applications.

Fresh from the success of its 7.7 MW microgrid at Gold Fields’ Granny Smith mine in Western Australia, Aggreko has signed a 10-year contract with the global gold miner to install at 25.9 MW hybrid solar and thermal power solution at its Salares Norte mine site, located at a height of 4,500 meters in the Andes Mountains.

The Consortium for Battery Innovation has produced an interactive, online map highlighting the location of lead-battery storage installations worldwide.

German energy storage provider Younicos is introducing C&I battery storage systems on a rental basis. The company says service is ideal for offgrid industries such as the mining sector.
