The Kenyan energy regulator has commissioned a study to assess the current status and potential of the country’s solar sector.
Overall, the Dutch government allocated 3.2 GW of renewable energy generation capacity through the latest round of the program, which is open to solar and clean energy projects larger in size than 15 kW.
The study by the Swedish energy agency Energimyndigheten reveals that several companies in the Scandinavian country find PV a profitable solution, even without any sort of incentive.

The Cubico Alten Aguascalientes Solar PV Project will be built in in El Llano municipality, in the state of Aguascalientes.
The exemption will relate to purchasing, manufacturing and importing of components to build renewable energy power projects.
The country’s cumulative installed PV capacity has now surpassed 700 MW, while total renewable energy generation has reached 1.46 GW.
In the first half of 2017, new additions totaled 900 MW, while cumulative installed PV capacity has now crossed 42 GW.
