Advancements in the sensor industry have resulted in improved communication between devices, with protocols like Modbus leading the way. However, challenges in the field persist.

Be it passive instruments or digital Modbus systems which require a power line, all types of equipment can encounter problems in the field which makes protection an utmost priority.

In this pv magazine Webinar, organized in partnership with OTT HydroMet, the home to solar and meteorology brands such as Kipp & Zonen and Lufft, we’ll explore the main challenges affecting the lifespan and accuracy of smart sensors in the field, with the focus on solar radiation measurement instruments.

Sajad Badalkhani, technical support and service manager for Europe – solar, and Marc Korevaar, scientist at OTT HydroMet’s R&D department, will share their hands-on experience in enhancing data quality and strengthening the resilience of field equipment. Real-world setup challenges and solutions will also be presented and discussed.

pv magazine Webinar content:

  • Advancements and challenges in protecting sensors in field applications
  • The difference between active, passive, analog, and digital solar instruments
  • The essence of field protection: Understanding its impact on data accuracy and instrument longevity
  • Techniques for enhanced reliability: Effective wiring, grounding, installation and maintenance, and protection
  • Case studies: Real-world setup challenges and solutions

Questions can be submitted beforehand in the comments window when registering or in the chat during the live webinar. Marija Maisch, editor at pv magazine, will be the moderator of this webinar.

Registration for this pv magazine Webinar is free of charge.
