Under a multiple year purchase agreement, Juwi will ship 50 MW of modules next year; another 550 MW will be shipped over the period of the agreement, the duration of which was not outlined.
The companies signed two further purchase agreements. The larger agreement is for 7.5 MW of CIGS thin film modules and will be used in the third and fourth quarters of this year for ground mounted and rooftop projects throughout Germany. This follows an agreement for one MW of CIGS modules, which were delivered to juwi in the second quarter of the year for projects in Germany and San Antonio, Texas.
The long-term nature and volumes outlined in the current supply agreement with MiaSolé enable juwi to continue its plan of rapid growth, said Lars Falck, managing director of juwi Solar. In the prevailing unpredictable environment, MiaSolé is proving to be an outstanding partner. We are very fond of their product. Quality and professionalism will enable MiaSolé to quickly gain market share.
The MiaSolé module, says Juwi, incorporates a glass-glass design, suitable for the most rigorous snow load requirement and design features such as a low open circuit voltage and interconnecting cables that reduce owners balance of systems cost versus comparable thin film modules.
