US: A new pact in California to be unveiled

Share

The Governor and the Interior Secretary have been in talks with the Obama Administration on the advancement of California's renewable energy goals. The announcement, that is to be made on Friday, will highlight the agreement that has been made between the State of California and the Obama Administration. One main goal is to increase the number of clean energy jobs.

Elk Grove is the site where Recurrent Energy Solar's solar projects are located. Recurrent Energy's CEO Arno Harris will also be present to make the announcement together with Brown and Salazar.

Recurrent Energy is currently in the process of selling those farms at Elk Grove to Google Inc. Recurrent Energy’s four Sacramento-area projects are expected to generate 160 million kWh of electricity in year one, which is roughly equivalent to the electricity consumption of 12,000 average American homes.
