Not yet a hotbed for PV installations and production, Kosovo is the home of a new PV module manufacturing facility. It is the largest of its kind in the region, and will look to take advantage of growing positivity around PV development.

The factory is located in Pristina, Kosovo, and has an annual output capacity of 50 MW. It took months to complete, and was a joint effort from J. v. G. Thoma and its Kosovar subsidiary J. v. G. Jaha Energy, making Jaha Energy the largest manufacturer of solar modules in the region. It is also taking part in an initiative to promote renewable energy in Kosovo, with its partner Empower.

It is a high-tech facility that will produce the company’s own brand of Desert modules. The opening of the facility was a proud occasion for the city, as both Parliamentary President Kadri Veseli and German Ambassador Angelika Viets were in attendance.
