The Iranian government is seeking to create awareness of the advantages of the FIT program for PV projects not exceeding 100 kW in size.

Through the tender, the Armenian government will build the country’s first large-scale PV plant as part of its six-year $58 million solar program.

Huaneng Power International (HPI) switched on 105.23 MW of solar in the April-June period, as well as an additional 270.55 MW of capacity that it completed in cooperation with partners.

The British solar developer confirms that its proposed 40 MW solar farm in Hampshire, southern England, will be commissioned by early 2018 and built without the need for any form of subsidy or support from government.

The €5.7 million project is being part-financed by the European Union, the United Nations Development Programme and the government of Eritrea to deliver solar electricity to up to 40,000 homes and businesses in the remotest parts of the country.

The three facilities are located near Santiago and are expected to sell power to local customers. All the projects were developed under Chile’s PMGD Program for distributed generation.

As demand is becoming geographically diversified, with strong growth of emerging markets set to make up for slowing demand in East Asia, GTM Research is now tracking 17.4 GW of confirmed solar tenders between Q2 and the end of 2019 across the globe, 9.6 GW of which is expected to be awarded in Q3 2017.

The 1.5 billion RUB ($25.3 million) project is scheduled to come online within two months. The Russian module maker has currently built around 50% of the facility.
