SolarWorld tops SVTC solar scorecard rankings
The Silicon Valley Toxics Coalition (SVTC) has published its 2011 Solar Company Scorecard. SolarWorld has come out on top, with Trina Solar following close behind. A number of other leading companies, however, failed to participate.
India: PLG Power inks 70 MW worth of PV contracts
PLG Power Limited has signed photovoltaic contracts worth 70 megawatts (MW) with the Gujarat Government in India. In total, it aims to install 200 MW by 2012.
GE to build 400 MW thin film factory; sets new CdTe record

3Sun granted 49.06 million in state aid
The European Commission has granted 3Sun Srl 49.06 million of regional investment aid. The funds will be used towards the establishment of a 240 megawatt, 358.68 million photovoltaic module production plant.
China may double solar power capacity
According to local media reports, China is considering doubling its installed solar power capacity from five to ten gigawatts by 2015.
SunShot Initiative receives $112.5 million boost
