SolAmerica Energy of Atlanta announced today that they will spearhead a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:00 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, to activate a new 924 kW single-axis tracker solar array system on the property of Collum’s Lumber Products in Allendale, SC. The ten-acre site on Collum’s Lumber Products property will generate energy for the company through a Bill Credit Program with South Carolina Electric & Gas (SCE&G).

Having expanded to include 160 exhibitors and with a 35 percentage increase in its total number of visitors, this year’s Energy Storage Europe trade fair and conference came to a successful conclusion. A further increase of professional visitors confirmed the interest of the industry as an event amongst professionals from the energy sector as well as the worlds of industry and trade. The trade fair was already fully booked last year and moved from the Messe Düsseldorf Conference Centre (CCD Süd) to its own hall for the first time. This allowed the exhibition to increase to over 2.000 square meters.

Honeywell announced an $11 million modernization project at the U.S. Air Force base in Los Angeles, California. The project includes efficiency upgrades and renewable energy measures that will help cut energy use by approximately 17 percent and generate an estimated average of $800,000 in annual energy savings over the 23-year contact.

ViZn Energy Systems Inc. (ViZn) has been selected to provide a 200kW (four hour) flow battery in Central America. The versatile zinc-iron redox battery from ViZn is being combined with an 800kWp solar array that will enable the Rancho Santana resort to take advantage of multiple behind-the-meter services, giving an estimated payback on the system of six and a half years.
