You can’t claim to be a sustainable provider of clean power with wasteful business/manufacturing processes and a lacking product lifecycle program.

While the PV and energy storage industry has always been a leader in the world of clean power, it hasn’t always been a leader in managing the environmental and social impact of its installations. As the global solar and storage market continues to grow, so does the need to confront the environmental consequences of our products and business practices.

This timely panel session, moderated by Eric Wesoff, the head of the U.S. editorial team at pv magazine, will help you and your company understand some of the lifecycle impacts of solar, batteries and electronics and let you assess your environmental standing while providing resources and metrics in order to do a better job. Part of pv magazine’s UP initiative to lessen the solar+storage industry’s ecological footprint, this session will provide expertise and insights that can support the marketplace in leveling up sustainability.

Discussion Content:

  • What portion of a solar module, inverter, battery or racking is potentially recyclable?
  • What infrastructure is in place to recycle renewable energy products?
  • How do you determine the energy payback time and impact of your manufacturing and products?
  • Case studies of sustainability and recycling programs of manufacturing leaders
  • Resources, metrics, and processes for improving your solar company’s clean tech credentials
