Philippines wants auctions for 2 GW of renewables

The government is planning to introduce a procurement regime this year which the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis says could drive the price of clean electricity as low as PHP3/kWh. It is thought projects which missed the feed-in tariff scheme deadline will be eligible to compete in the auctions.

Mongolia kicks off solar-plus-storage tender

The 5 MW Uliastai solar-plus-storage project will be located in the city of the same name in the western part of the country, around 1,100km from Ulaanbaatar. The facility is part of a plan to deploy 40 MW of solar and wind generation linked to energy storage in the nation’s western and Altai-Uliastai regions.

Vietnam to hold auctions for 400 MW of floating solar

Following its decision to switch from fixed feed-in tariffs to reverse auction bidding for the setting of solar incentives, the Vietnamese government has decided to devote the first two pilot auctions to floating PV. Vietnamese hydropower company secures financing for 47 MW floating PV project

Da Mi has $37 million for a floating solar project it wants to build at its hydropower plant in Binh Thuan province. If built before 2022, the project will be entitled to a feed-in tariff of $0.0769/kWh – provided a draft FIT scheme being considered by the government is passed into law.
