The first window to submit solar projects will be opened in the so-called “Spring Round” on March 19. The program is open, among other renewable energy projects, to solar plants over 1 MW and projects ranging in size from 15 kW to 1 MW.
The Dutch construction group is currently developing four PV plants with a combined capacity of 50 MW in the Netherlands.
Around 37 MW of community solar power projects have been built in Holland so far this year.
The solar facility, which was entirely financed by Netherlands’ Ministry of economic affairs, is located on the island of Sint Eustatius.
Solar was also the prevailing source in the “autumn round” of the 2017 SDE+ program for large-scale renewable energy projects, accounting for 60.7% of all preassigned capacity. Overall, 5,456 PV projects proposals, totaling 3,221 MW, were submitted.
The pilot phase will be implemented during a six-month period. Interconnected residential PV storage systems from Sonnen will be used to stabilize the power grid via blockchain.
The Dutch research institute ECN also believes that 20 GW of installed PV capacity could already be reached by 2035.
Dutch solar-powered car, with an average speed of 69 km/h and a carrying capacity of up to five people, has been hailed as the future of solar powered cars after competing in World Solar Challenge.
The funds will be used to deploy around 25 MW of projects under the SDE+ program for large-scale solar and renewables.
Announcement today by Dutch government seen as progressive step for renewables in the country. New legislation requires all coal-fired generation plants to be idled by 2030 and to meet more stringent emissions limits from 2021.
