ReneSola may sell off its indebted polysilicon, wafer and PV module production businesses to regain compliance with the listing standards of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

The ruling comes as the German solar manufacturer is restarting following an insolvency process, and Hemlock may have a hard time collecting.

GCL-Poly Energy has signed a framework agreement with semiconductor manufacturer Tianjin Zhonghuan, under which the two sides will collaborate of the production of polysilicon and wafers, in addition to downstream PV project development.

Daqo New Energy reported a net profit of about $12.1 million in the second quarter of 2017, down roughly 47% from the preceding three-month period, as the Chinese polysilicon producer’s revenue fell more than 9% to about $76 million.

Wacker’s polysilicon division saw its sales decrease in the second quarter, despite the group’s turnover growth.

The Norwegian polysilicon producer saw its revenue drop slightly Y-o-Y to $61.0 million in the latest quarter. Average solar grade polysilicon prices, on the other hand, dropped by 6.9% from the previous quarter.

The use of diamond wire significantly reduces wafer saw losses. Some photovoltaic manufacturers have begun to switch their production, after technical problems appear to have been resolved.

The Chinese energy group’s external sales of polysilicon fell about 43.4% year on year to 1,896 metric tons (MT) in the January-March period.

The Chinese polysilicon producer’s net income attributable to shareholders reached $22.9 million in the first quarter of 2017, from just $8.3 million a year earlier.

Quarterly financial results from Norwegian based polysilicon producer REC Silicon show a drop in revenue from $80.4 million the previous quarter. EBITDA for the quarter was $4.6 million, also down from $4.9 million in the previous quarter.
