Bloomberg has reported that the finance and leasing company will use 30 billion yen to construct 100 MW worth of solar power stations, and 24 billion yen to lease rooftop space for a further 100 MW of solar systems over the next 3 years.

Spokeswoman, Tamaki Shibata reportedly told the news source that Orix is also considering increasing its investment to 100 billion yen to install 400 MW in Japan. "We will closely monitor panel and land prices," she said.

Currently, the company is said to be developing a 2 MW solar plant in Kagawa prefecture, which is expected to be complete next January.

Orix could not be immediately contacted for comment.
