JinkoSolar supplies 33 MW of PV modules to Chile project

The Chinese PV manufacturer delivered 110,400 of its modules to the San Pedro III PV Plant Phase I project, located in Calama, in northern Chile’s El Loa Province. The second phase is expected to see another 24.47 MW added.

The San Pedro project, which was competed and grid connected this April, secured long term financing totaling US$104 million from CorpBanca. Portuguese electric power group EFACEC undertook EPC services.

Overall, Rijn Capital Chile, the local unit of Dutch investment firm Rijn Capital BV, has a solar PV portfolio of over 500 MW in the country.

In addition to San Pedro III project (Jama), it is working on another four plants in El Loa Province totaling 158.25 MW. In Copiapó province, it is looking to install one system worth 42.41 MW; and in the Chañaral Province, 81 MW across two systems. Finally, in the El Tamarugal Province, Rijn Capital aims to complete six solar projects totaling 310 MW.
