The project, which will be spread across 20 sites in the district, will comprise a total of 23,000 photovoltaic panels. The systems will be installed on both rooftops and parking structures, and are expected to provide around 64 percent energy offset of the sites and 11 percent offset of the overall districts power needs.
Scheduled for completion this October, it is expected to be one of the largest school solar systems in California.
GCL Solar Energy, Inc., a subsidiary of GCL-Poly, has partnered with solar developer Amsolar Corporation to complete the project.
