Masdar receives €12.9 million for new PV module line

In a statement released, the commission said that the aid would go towards the company’s second around €120 million module line in Ichtershausen, Thuringia. A spokesperson for Masdar declined to provide any further details, saying that internal discussions were currently taking place regarding the new plans. In 2008, the commission provided Masdar with €28 million in aid to set up its first thin film module line. “As the two projects are located in the same area, economically indivisible and undertaken within three years, they constitute a single project for the assessment under EU state aid rules,” it said.
