The plant, owned and operated by Convert Italia, took two months to come online. It is comprised of Convert Italias MX1 horizontal tracking system and Solarias LCPV modules.
According to a spokesperson, Solarias proprietary cell multiplication technology enables high efficiency modules to use less than half the silicon of traditional photovoltaic modules.
Convert Italia and Solaria are currently working on two further LCPV plants. The spokesperson declined to provide any further details.
