Following a tender held by Indian state utility National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC), which has emerged as the country’s leading solar backer, Energon Solar was appointed developer for the project, which is now fully operational.

“We are pleased to cooperate with Energon Solar on this remarkable project in Medak, Telangana,” said Gener Miao, Vice President Global Sales and Marketing of JinkoSolar. “India's market is growing rapidly. We feel excited about the huge potential and will continue to expand our presence there.”

The latest shipment has further solidified China’s No.1 spot on the list of largest exporters of solar modules and cells to India, which according to recent data accounts for $2.2 billion of the country’s total solar import and an 86.6% market share.
