Spanish energy giant Iberdrola has joined forces with PV module maker Exiom Solution to build a factory in northern Spain. The facility is set to begin commercial operations by the end of this year.

PV developers have launched, resumed and completed several large-scale solar projects in Latin America in recent weeks, including two Enel installations in Chile and Colombia.

PVH has confirmed that it will build a new manufacturing facility in Valencia, Spain. The factory will raise its global tracker production capacity to 25 GW.

Developers signed 8.4 GW of power purchase agreements (PPAs) in Europe in 2022, down 21% by volume from the preceding year, according to Pexapark’s newly published annual report. However, the Swiss consultancy notes that the 161 deals that were actually signed rose by 4.5% year on year, with Spain leading the way.

Iberdrola has secured a new 25 MW floating PV project in a tender in the municipality of Kurtzenhouse, Alsace, France.

LevelTen Energy says the prices of solar power purchase agreements (PPAs) in Europe reached €76.84($82.58)/MWh in the fourth quarter of 2022.

The European Commission listed tax exemptions, flexible aid, and the promotion of local manufacturing among its key strategies for the Green Deal Industrial Plan. However, the SolarPower Europe industry group has criticized the plan’s lack of focus on solar.

Iberdrola says it will build the massive Fernando Pessoa solar facility in Santiago do Cacém, about 200 kilometers south of Lisbon.

Located in Spain’s southern province of Badajoz, the project is the largest PV facility built by Acciona in its home country.
