Denmark to open tender for German PV installations

The Danish Energy Agency is expected to reserve up to 2.4 MW of its 20 MW tender for German installations. In return Germany is planning to open its tenders for the neighboring country.

Germany: 83 MW added in January

The weak performance of the German solar market continues, with Federal Network Agency reporting that 83.242 MW of PV was added to the country’s grid in January. Nine new ground mounted PV power plants were registered in the month.

First Tesla Powerwall systems installed in Germany

German solar and storage installer Praml has completed two of the first installations of Tesla’s 6.4 kWh residential battery system, the Powerwall, in the country. Praml has installed two Tesla Powerwall systems reporting that the install took a team of two around five hours.

Germany: Frustration over wait for new PV storage subsidy announcement

Funding for battery storage for small solar PV systems in Germany ceased at the end of 2015. The Federal Government is said to still be working on the new program, which should start “as early as possible in 2016,” and end in 2018. Third German PV tender delivers 204 MW across 43 bids

Germany’s Federal Network Agency has released the results of its third solar project tender, resulting in 204 MW of capacity. Among the successful bids, three came from individual investors, two from registered cooperatives and three from small privately held businesses.

Germany: New investor for insolvent inverter company, Platinum

The acquisition has saved all 42 jobs at Platinum’s German headquarters, according to the insolvency liquidator. The inverter manufacturer will solely focus on R&D going forward.

Germany: Just 45 MW of new solar added in October

Just 45 MW of new solar PV capacity was added in October, according to the German Federal Network Agency. The FIT tariffs will, as a consequence of the weakened demand, not change in December. For the first 10 months of the year, newly registered systems total 1.174 GW.

Sonnenbatterie launches solar+storage community platform

German specialized solar battery manufacturer Sonnenbatteries has unveiled its new concept of a virtual network that can pool solar+storage arrays and trade surplus energy on the wholesale market. The goal is to build a virtual community of solar+storage owners and to participate in peer-to-peer energy exchange and trading.
