Chinese researchers have developed a new solar cell with a planar n-i-p structure and an indium tin oxide (ITO) substrate. It also has a tin(IV) oxide (SnO2) buffer layer, a perovskite layer, a hole transport layer (HTL), and a layer made of copper. It was able to retain around 92% of its initial efficiency after 1,000 hours.
Tongwei and Jolywood announced higher cell prices, while Maxwell revealed that it has signed a deal to sell 4.8 GW of heterojunction PV production equipment to Golden Glass.
Solvay has announced a partnership with China’s 3TREES to develop building-integrated photovoltaic thermoplastic polyolefin roofing membranes that comply with China’s new 25-year aging requirements for BIPV TPO roofing. The new BIPV product will be commercialized by the end of the year.
Scientists in China have studied the impact of shading on single solar cells and on simple arrangements of two cells connected in series or in parallel.
Dalian Rongke Power has connected a 100 MW redox flow battery storage system to the grid in Dalian, China. It will start operating in mid-October and will eventually be scaled up to 200 MW. The vanadium redox flow battery technology was developed by a division of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Hithium’s new battery has an energy efficiency of 95% and an energy density of 170 Wh/kg. It can purportedly operate for more than 12,000 cycles.
Solinteg’s new inverters have an efficiency of 98.1% and a European efficiency of 97.5%.
