English Premier League soccer club’s Emirates Stadium now runs on 100% renewable energy following deal with Octopus Energy.
Belgian research institute Imec has achieved a conversion efficiency of 23.9% on a perovskite/silicon tandem module measuring 4 square centimeters. This efficiency level, according to Imec, represents the first time such a stacked configuration has outperformed a standalone silicon solar cell.
Solarworld Industries GmbH, for which the former CEO Frank Asbeck has been registered as managing director, wants to continue most of the cell and module production at its German facilities. The meeting of creditors must approve the agreement on Friday. The investors also take over the shares in foreign companies, but not in the US subsidiary of the German photovoltaic manufacturer.
The plan will affect 66 employees of the division for photovoltaic systems and energy saving.
