Benin starts building 25 MW PV plant

Benin has started construction of the 25 MW Forsun PV plant, which is set to join the Defisol and TTC projects to expand the Illoulofin Solar Power Station’s total capacity to 75 MW. The government said the project is backed by a $25.8 million investment.

EDF-led consortium wins Moroccan tender for 800 MW CSP-PV project with price of $0.070/kWh

The grouping, which includes UAE-based Masdar and Moroccan independent power producer Green of Africa, is planning to begin construction this year. The project is among those realized by the Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy, as part of the Noor Solar Plan to develop a minimum 2 GW of capacity by next year.

Niger tenders 22 MW solar-diesel hybrid project

The project will consist of a 13 MW solar facility, three 2 MW diesel power generators, and a 5 MWh storage system.
