Tokyu Land to build 92 MW plus storage in Japan

Property developer Tokyu Land has revealed plans to pair 92 MW of solar with 25.3 MWh of lithium-ion storage capacity on the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido, in cooperation with Mitsubishi UFJ Lease & Finance and Green Power Development Corp. of Japan.

Orix, Kyudenko, Kyushu Electric switch on 52.5 MW in Fukushima

Fukuoka-based engineering firm Kyudenko, Japanese financial services giant Orix and Kyuden Mirai Energy — a wholly owned subsidiary of regional utility Kyushu Electric Power — completed the project in Soma, Fukushima prefecture, in early June.

Financing agreed for Sweihan mega project in Abu Dhabi

Chinese module manufacturer JinkoSolar announced the completion of financial negotiations for the 1.17 GW solar project to be built in Abu Dhabi. The project will be financed with $870 million and is expected to begin commercial operation in April 2019.

Marubeni to develop world’s largest PV plant in UAE, according to reports

Japanese conglomerate Marubeni is planning to build a mega 1.18 GW solar plant, making it the largest in the world, in the United Arab Emirates, with support from JinkoSolar and the Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority, according to Japanese newspaper Nikkei.
