Baywa re to build its first unsubsidized solar plant in Germany

The 8.8 MW project, in Mecklenburg-Pomerania, will sell power to industrial customers through a long-term PPA. Construction is expected to begin in June.

Spain’s Audax to build 320 MW of PV plant capacity

After signing multiple PPAs for big solar projects in the Iberian peninsula as a buyer of electricity, the Spanish utility has announced it intends sell power from its own solar facilities. The planned PV plant portfolio will be spread across Andalucía, Castilla la Mancha and Murcia.

SMA posts first-quarter loss

REC Silicon moves nearer shutdown of US polysilicon facility

Netherlands to issue green bonds worth up to €6 billion

On May 21, the triple-A rated nation will issue 20-year bonds for sustainable investments undertaken by its government. Eligible projects will include large scale renewable energy plants developed under the SDE+ incentive program.

EDF commissions ‘France’s largest collective self-consumption PV project’

A social housing development of 100 dwellings will benefit from the electricity generated by 600 sq meters of PV panels. Any output not used by residents will power hot water tanks, effectively functioning as an energy storage element of the project.
