The French authorities selected 66 projects in a recent tender for “innovative” PV technologies. The final average price was significantly lower than the ceiling price.
US startup unveils 5 kW solar canopy for EV charging
Paired Power said its new 5 kW solar canopy measures 3.2 meters x 5.2 meters x 3.7 meters and can host up to 10 bifacial solar panels. It can be used in on-grid or off-grid modes and can be paired with lithium-ion battery storage systems up to 40 kWh in size.
Australian startup unveils scalable shade solution for commercial applications
Canyon Solar has unveiled a prefabricated solar PV shade structure for commercial carport applications that it claims can be installed at least three times faster than traditional systems and outcompetes rooftop solar PV on a dollar-per-watt basis.
First milestone for solar carport at Disneyland Paris
A third of the 17 MW solar array is now completed. The installation is expected to cover around 17% of the theme park’s electricity needs. Final completion is scheduled for 2023.

New solar carport solution from France
The PowerPark carport is equipped with 5.6kW of monocrystalline modules and one or more WallBox charging stations for hybrid or electric vehicles. French company Aterno is selling the system, starting from €19,900 – excluding VAT – depending on the project configuration.

France’s largest PV carport is under construction
A 29 MW solar carport is being built by Engie at the factory of car manufacturer Stellantis in Sochaux. The plant is scheduled to begin commercial operation in October 2022.

Distributed Solar Development has built a solar carport for IKEA in Baltimore. It will also handle the furniture giant’s other projects in Maryland and California.
