Sonnen, Senec and LG Chem dominate growing PV storage market in Europe

According to the German solar industry association (BSW-Solar) the prices for large and small PV storage systems have fallen by 50 respectively 40 percent. This growing market is dominated by Sonnen, Senec and LG Chem, as an analysis by EuPD Research shows.

Indonesia’s 1.2 MW community-owned off-grid PV: model for the future?

A 1.2 MW hybrid plant is currently under development in a remote area of Indonesia aiming to provide 24-hours access to electricity for about 400 households in three villages. The project will be owned by the local community, offering a model for the development of solar PV in the country.

Italy issues new regulation to promote solar and renewables in non-interconnected islands

The new rules will apply to the country’s 20 minor islands that have no connection with the national grid. Solar installation will be entitled to receive a premium tariff for both injected and self-consumed power.

USTDA helps Kenya build 40 MW solar-plus-storage power plant

The U.S. Trade and Development Agency will partner with Kenya-based engineering services provider Xago Africa on the development of the project. U.S. battery maker Suniva will supply a battery that will be combined with the facility.
