Opportunities emerge on the rooftops of MENA

View Webinar Video

Blessed with some of the highest levels of solar irradiation in the world, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region has almost limitless potential for PV development. And while desert regions outside many of the region’s major cities already host some of the world’s largest PV installations, MENA has been a slower mover when it comes to rooftop solar. But that is set to change. In this pv magazine Webinar, we’ll take a closer look at Huawei’s latest offering for the rooftop market, the FusionSolar Residential Smart PV Solution, and why the Middle East will be a key region in the development of distributed solar in years to come.

Opportunities emerge on the rooftops of MENA

Thanks to rapidly falling prices able to compete with grid supplied power, and increasing public acceptance of the technology, the MENA region is set for rapid growth in the uptake of rooftop solar, both in the commercial and residential sectors.

And Huawei, pv magazine’s partner in producing this webinar, is ready to meet the rising need for distributed PV both in MENA and the rest of the world with its latest FusionSolar Residential Smart PV Solution. During the webinar, Huawei’s experts will treat us to a closer look at the solution and the added value it promises to bring to rooftop solar installations in ensuring safety and stable operation, as well as being primed for easy integration with energy storage.

First though, we’ll zoom out to look at the region’s broader trends in distributed PV. Antoine Poussard, Managing Partner at Finergreen, will take us through the current trends and market drivers on both the policy and technology sides, as well their expectations for growth over the next few years. And we’ll hear more from Rizwan Razaq, CTO of Huawei Smart PV Middle East about how the company plans to meet this demand and take full advantage of the opportunity.

Finally, Imran Ali Shah, Senior Manager Research at the Alternate Energy Research and Innovation Lab at KICs UET, Pakistan, will take a closer look at the ins and outs of Huawei’s solution for the sun-drenched residential rooftops of the whole region.
